Rishikesh Reflections

Purging and Learning.

A trip to India for me is like coming home to the mother.

The place where you can allow your guilt and shame to be washed away by the loving embrace of the Mother, by the powerful, feminine, Divine force of Ma Ganga.

By the sights, the sounds, the smells, the d t of strangers, the warmth of the sun and the nourishment of the food.

What an honour to practice alongside such dedicated and revered artists, yogis and musicians, all humble, accepting, welcoming, all of me.

Everything and everyone in this sacred place is a teacher, a lesson, not with harsh criticism or shame, but rather love, acceptance and undertsanding.

We all experience pain, we all experience love, they are two sides of the same coin. We are fallible human beings, however, as long as we continue to be open, to learn, to evolve and explore new possibilities, we facilitate the merging with the truth of who we really are.

Not what we have been told or conditioned to believe, the truth, that is Love.

What a blessing and honour to be able to visit Rishikesh, the home of the Rishi’s, Sages, Saints and Yogis who have wandered the Himalayas and the banks of the Ganaga, and devoted their lives to love.

The blessing of being there is palpable. It can be felt in the earth, the air, the animals who wander freely like humans, the nature, the birds and their harmonic vocals, the vibrant colours and blooms.

Spending time in Rishikesh is truly living in the now. A feeling of being alive runs through the veins. You can not help but become intoxicated by love, forgiveness, towards yourself and others who you deem to have wronged you. In that moment of forgiveness and entering from fear to love, you set yourself free. There is nothing more valuable than this.
